Nanyoung Kim was born and raised in Korea and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music (piano) and a Master’s degree in Aesthetics from Seoul National University, Korea.  In the United States, she received a Master’s and a Doctoral degree in Art Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She currently is a professor in art education at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.  Her research interests are in design education, aesthetics, and history of art and art education.
