MICHAEL GOULDING

Michael Goulding is a fine art photographer based in the United States.  His work celebrates the beauty of the female form and spirit.  He strives for his art to uplift the spirit and inspire appreciation for the beauty of life.  Born in 1964 in the United States, he grew up in an artistic family.  His father was a professor of film studies at Oberlin College specializing in Yugoslav and Eastern European cinema.  His mother received a Fulbright scholarship and joined an acting troupe in London while in graduate school and later directed community theater.  His brother attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music for piano.
He has been engaged in the visual arts nearly all of his life.  He has worked in a variety of media including pencil and charcoal drawing; painting in oil, tempera and acrylic; sculpture in various media; and photography.  While he has concentrated on a number of subjects, ultimately that journey led him to focus on the beauty of the female form as viewed through black and white photography, which he has been doing for the past twenty years.
